White tigers are an extraordinary rarity, with only one in every 10,000 Bengal tigers being born white with black stripes and a pink nose.

In July, a miraculous event occurred in captivity as triplet cubs were born, showcasing the adorable charm of this black and white miracle.

Residing with their mother, Surya Bara, at ZOO Liberec in the Czech Republic, the public is now invited to participate in naming one of these precious cubs.

From over 2,200 suggestions, the zoo has narrowed it down to five names – Liam, Samburu, Sigmar, Titan, or Woody – for one of the male cubs. According to the Czech news website iDNES.cz, voting polls will open tomorrow. The zookeepers will be responsible for naming the other male and female cubs.

During a veterinary examination in August, the two males weighed around 15lbs, and the female weighed approximately 14lbs. The triplets are set to be baptized on Saturday, according to iDNES.cz.

ZOO Liberec, the oldest zoo in the Czech Republic, faced a tragic incident in 2009 when two lions entered the enclosure and killed a 17-year-old white tigress. Despite the zoo workers being alerted by the tiger’s cries, they were unable to prevent the unfortunate incident.

White Bengal tigers are not albinos or a separate subspecies but rather a result of a rare recessive gene. In the past century, only 12 have been spotted in the wild. Most survive in captivity, as their distinctive coloration makes it challenging for them to catch prey in the jungle.

Bengal tigers reach full maturity at two to three years of age and can live up to 15 years in the wild. Males weigh between 440-500lbs and grow up to nine feet in length, while females range from 285-375lbs and grow up to eight feet long.

Survival in the wild proves challenging for white Bengal tigers due to their conspicuous coloration, making them stand out in the jungle and struggle to catch prey ef
