About a year passed, and when Maumau was ready to be adopted, the staff at the facility pledged to find the perfect home for Maumau, who required special care. In the midst of this, Amelia, who worked at an animal hospital, saw Maumau and instantly fell in love.

“I completely fell in love with Maumau. Whenever I went to see her, she would greet me with an adorable voice and warmly welcome me,” said Amelia.

Having been nurtured for about a year for socialization, Maumau was already fully prepared to go to her forever home. And on that day, Maumau chose Amelia, who had come to inquire about her.

Afterward, when Maumau started living in Amelia’s home, she initially hid under the bed, bewildered by the new environment. But as soon as she realized it was a safe place, she quickly emerged from under the bed. Then, she began to explore every corner of the house, claiming all the chairs and beds as her own.

Maumau’s body isn’t in the best condition, and she sometimes bumps into things, but she doesn’t seem to mind much and enjoys her days happily.

“Maumau is a very unique little cat. She can be quite stubborn at times and never bends her own thoughts,” said Amelia.

There are times when Maumau seems to be very curious about Amelia’s actions. When Amelia is in the kitchen, Maumau climbs onto the cupboard and stares down at Amelia, observing her intently. Also, when Amelia moves to the sofa, Maumau sits nearby, sticking out her cute tongue while gazing at Amelia.

“Maumau is incredibly curious, and she seems unable to resist investigating whenever she finds something new. She’s always full of energy, jumping at toys and playfully swatting at my hands, seeming to enjoy each day,” Amelia remarked.

While Maumau rarely hops onto my lap, there are times when she seems to crave attention uncontrollably, showing her belly and requesting pets.

Additionally, every morning when Amelia wakes up, Maumau comes straight towards her, displaying an adorable pose on the backrest of the sofa next to the bed. Amelia always feels happy seeing her like that, and it sets the tone for a wonderful start to the day.
