Dybala joined Roma from Juventus in 2022, and the club had to make significant concessions to secure him, the most notable being his release clause. Dybala is available to clubs outside Italy for just €12 million.

This has led to speculation about his departure in previous transfer windows, and the upcoming one is no different. Chelsea has shown interest in Dybala, largely due to the admiration of his compatriot Mauricio Pochettino. However, with Pochettino no longer at Stamford Bridge, these rumors have quieted. A few years ago, Manchester United was also keen on acquiring Dybala, but no deal was reached.

In an interview with The Athletic, Dybala revealed his interest in playing in LaLiga or the Premier League and discussed his failed transfer to Old Trafford.

“It would be hard to leave,” Dybala said, “but of course, you always have the curiosity and wonder how you would do in leagues as good as LaLiga and the Premier League, where there are great teams and great players.”

In 2019, Manchester United wanted to bring him to England. “That summer, I remember there was an approach from Man Utd as well as Tottenham, but it was more Manchester because Juve wanted to make that move.”

“It was the season Juve appointed [Maurizio] Sarri, so I spoke to him to find out if he really didn’t want me on the team. After our chat, my intention was to stay. I didn’t want to leave. I wanted to stay because I was happy. That was my best year.”
